Japanese pronounce them as "kusari doi." Japanese would place them in
their homes to collect rain water and use that later.
The procedure of working of rain chain begins with the
removal of old down spouts which little more entails the support brackets and
screws and then the down spout itself. This will leave an outlet at the top of
your gutter and at this opening a metal support attachment is made as the
support structures. This is a v shaped metal with wings stretched either side
to support the whole structure. From this support It can be attached and hang
down freely so that it can empty on to the ground.
